Last quarter, my team and I completed our Cal Poly Graphic Communication senior project by creating the ultimate guide to SLO’s best food, drinks, and more. We sat down with over 20 local businesses to get the inside scoop and hear their stories, bringing all our GrC skills to the table through film photography, captivating layout design, and a few of our own tips and recommendations. I was completely responsible for the layout and had fun playing around with my margins and columns, following several different grid layouts to keep everything uniform, but exciting. Once each page was carefully designed, they were printed on the Xerox, cut down on the Polar Cutter, and then we used the Perfect Binder to create the perfect magazine.
This magazine was more than just a quarter-long project. It celebrates and serves as a symbol of my four years in SLO and explores the community through the stories of business owners and celebrate what makes this town and my undergraduate education so special.
